Product Description

Time Visions Comments

This new Bering model features a beautiful pink mother-of-pearl dial surrounded by an extremely scratch resistant pink ceramic bezel. Swarovski crystals adorn the dial at each hour position. A sapphire crystal, which is unlikely to be scratched by anything less than a diamond, protects the dial. The stylish bracelet is composed of pink ceramic bricks set inside polished, rose gold-plated stainless steel links. This timepiece offers a water resistance of 5 atmospheres, which protects it during normal bathing and showering but is not recommended for swimming or snorkeling. This watch comes with a three-year manufacturer's warranty.

Design details

The spare but stunning aesthetic that inspired Bering Time is evident in every design decision the company makes, from the watches themselves to the recycled and upcycle-friendly “white ice” glass jars in which they are packaged. Bering watches feature less-is-more lines, with slim profiles and clean contours. But the timepieces never sacrifice a durable build for beauty. In fact, many Bering models, even at prices as low as $99, protect the dial with a genuine sapphire crystal. We know of no other watch brand that delivers this level of quality at price points this accessible. We've included our proprietary, high-resolution photos of this model to help you understand all of the details associated with it.

About European Sapphire Crystals

Most Bering watch crystals are made of sapphire, a material renowned for its scratch resistance (diamond is the only harder mineral). Sapphire crystals are common on high-end, high-priced watches but are rarely found at the price points that Bering targets.

About High-Tech Ceramic

Bering makes liberal use of the latest high-tech ceramic material for its Ceramic Collection of watches. Ceramics are known for their amazing scratch-resistant properties. High-tech ceramic is so hard that it takes a diamond to scratch it. This remarkable material is completely non-porous, so it will not absorb other colors. Even if you spilled red wine or motor oil on it, your Bering ceramic would be the same color in 10 years that it is today. Ceramic quickly adjusts to the wearer’s body temperature, making it a popular choice for watch bracelets and cases. As scratch resistant as ceramic is, it is possible to crack or even shatter the material if it falls onto a hard surface. Bering thus takes the extra step of protecting the ceramic on many of its models with titanium or stainless steel at contact points to prevent damage. Through-holes for bracelet pins are molded when the ceramic pieces are fired, rather than drilled after the pieces cool, to prevent micro-fractures that can spread over time and weaken the material. A Bering Time Ceramic Collection timepiece is a high-quality watch that will provide years of service and retain its crisp good looks throughout its life.

Your Bering watch will arrive packaged in a white Bering cardboard box that contains a frosted "white ice" jar made from recycled glass. A white Bering cinch bag inside the jar protects your watch, which is supported on a microfiber watch pillow. Your package will also include the Certificate of Warranty, which covers your watch for three years.

About Bering Time

Danish watchmaker Bering Time is the offspring of adventure, inspired by company president Rene Kaerskov’s 2008 trip to the North Pole. The “cool, simple beauty” of the “infinite white expanse” of Arctic ice inspired the adventurer and entrepreneur to create watches that would be “as pure, clear, and breathtakingly beautiful as the Arctic itself.” Noting that “great concept and design need a great name,” Kaerskov and his partners elected to honor Danish-born explorer Vitus Bering, for whom the Bering Sea and the Bering Standard Time zone were named. When the pure, cool beauty of the Arctic is blended with the simple elegance of Danish design, it’s Bering Time! Bering watches have caught on quickly in Europe and are now being discovered in the US market.
