Time Visions Comments
It is always exciting when we get a chance to help bring a new brand to market. Pramzius, a Craig Hester company, has launched their first timepiece, the Trans-Siberian Railroad watch and we are pleased to be able to offer it to our customers. This timepiece honors one of the most popular Russian watches ever made, which was originally a pocket watch. Craig has managed to capture the feel of the pocket watch but has adapted it in a way that allows the wearer to use it 3 unique configurations. It can be worn as a traditional wrist-watch (with 3 strap choices!), as a pocket watch (complete with chain) or even as a small desk clock.
The case construction of the Trans-Siberian Railroad watch is 316L stainless steel and it is built at a diameter of 48mm and thickness of 11.5mm. The caseback offers a beautiful image of the original locomotive done in high relief. Even the design of the coin-edged crown originates from the smoke stack of the train. The watch is produced in a numbered, limited edition run of 999 pieces, with only 500 of them built with a highly-scratch resistant Sapphire crystal. It is powered by an open-heart Seiko (SII) NH38 automatic movement so the motion of the watch on your body provides all the power required for operation. This model is done in a sunray blue dial with the hands generously coated with Superluminova. The watch ships on a bund or “lagarto” leather strap which wraps underneath the caseback and around the wrist. Want to change to an alternative strap? No problem. Just use the Pramzius-branded screwdriver included in the package and unfasten the two screws that attach the case lugs to the leather. Then, using the same screw driver, attach alternative large grain croc-embossed leather strap to the lugs to create a more traditional look. Want to go light-weight? Remove the leather strap and thread the supplied nylon "zulu" strap through the lugs to put this watch in its most "sporty" appearance. If a desk clock is what you would like to see, simply remove the watch completely from all straps and position it in the included cherrywood veneer desk stand. Finally, to get fully traditional, you can turn this enormously flexible timepiece into a close facsimile of the piece it honors --- the famous Trans-Siberian Railroad watch. Using a micro-screw driver (easily found in any eye-glass repair kit), unscrew the the bottom lug from the watch case and replace it with the stainless "plug" provided in your kit. This restores the smooth bottom of the watch, returning it to the original pocket watch configuration. Now, just snap on the pocket watch chain (also supplied in the kit) and you've transformed your watch into something with a 100 year old look. If you're looking for something a little different, with excellent build quality and incredible flexibility, this may be the timepiece for you!

Many watch enthusiasts will recognize the name Craig Hester as the US importer of Vostok-Europe timepieces. For well over a decade, Craig has been instrumental in bringing Russian and eastern European watches to the US market. He is a frequent presenter on popular television watch shows. Craig has stepped outside his standard role as an importer and has launched his own brand. Pramzius designs are inspired by history from the Baltic region. Although the Trans-Siberian Railroad watch is his first offering, you can expect other exciting new designs from Pramzius. It is clear that Craig wants to develop watches that maintain marketplace value as every watch he offers will be produced as a number, limited edition. We consider Craig not only a business associate but also a good personal friend. Time Visions is honored to have been chosen by Craig to deliver all of the principal photography and video production for his initial offering. We’ve gotten a sneak-peak at what Pramzius has planned in the coming months and the future of the brand looks incredibly exciting!
